Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026
This policy explains how Hunter & Coast Irrigation Pty Ltd (ABN 32 645 145 928), trading as Aquavation (“we”, “us”), handles personal information. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. What we collect
- Contact details: name, email, mobile number and street address.
- About your home and water: suburb and postcode, water source (town water, tank or bore), home type, number of bathrooms, whether you own or rent, when you’re looking to buy, and what you’re most concerned about.
- Your choices: which consent boxes you ticked, and when.
- Communications: messages, emails and chats with us, and call recordings and transcripts.
- Website data: when you use our website or the Water Snapshot, we and our advertising partners (such as Meta) may use cookies and similar technology to measure visits and show you relevant ads. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
2. Why we collect it
- To prepare and send your Water Snapshot.
- To work out whether we can install in your area, or whether you’d need a system shipped for your own licensed plumber to install.
- To prepare quotes, take orders, arrange delivery and installation, and provide aftercare, such as filter replacement reminders.
- To contact you by phone, SMS or email, but only in the ways you agreed to.
- To improve our service and measure our advertising.
3. Automated assessments and AI
Some of our work is done by computer programs:
- Your Water Snapshot is generated automatically. It uses your suburb, postcode and water source, matched against published water authority data.
- Routing: a program uses your postcode, home details, timeframe and answers to decide which team follows up with you. It also decides whether we offer installation in your area or a supply-only option.
- Our AI assistant may reply to your messages and, if you agreed, call you. It always says it is an AI, and you can ask for a person at any time. All calls are recorded. If you’d rather not be recorded, tell us and we’ll continue by SMS or email instead.
A person on our team can review any of these outcomes. To ask for a review, contact us (section 9).
4. Who we share it with
We share your information only where needed for the purposes above:
- Service providers that run our systems: our customer database and messaging platform, our AI assistant, phone and email delivery, web hosting, payments and accounting.
- Our installation partner: a licensed plumber, if you’re in our installation area and go ahead with an installation.
- Couriers: if we ship a system to you.
- Our finance provider: only if you choose to apply for finance.
- Anyone else if the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not pass it to other businesses for their own marketing.
5. Overseas storage
Our customer database, messaging and AI service providers may store or process your information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it.
6. Marketing
We send marketing only if you agreed to it. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to an SMS, clicking unsubscribe in an email, telling our assistant or team on a call, or contacting us. We act on opt-outs within 5 working days, and usually straight away.
We call only between 9am and 8pm on weekdays and between 9am and 5pm on Saturdays, your local time, and never on Sundays or national public holidays.
7. Keeping it secure
Your information is held in our customer database, which uses access controls and encryption. Only staff and providers who need it can see it. Call recordings are deleted automatically after 90 days. We keep other information while we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it.
8. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. We’ll respond within 30 days. There’s no charge to ask.
9. Contact and complaints
Email info@aquavation.com.au or call 1300 047 882.
If you have a complaint, tell us first, and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
